The Cintra KM-Portal is a single-point-access software system intended to provide easy and timely access to information and to support communities of knowledge workers who share common goals.
The KM-Portal is a collaborative environment providing a multi-departmental structure that allows users to combine dynamic elements such as Dashboards, KPI’s, Reports, Charts, Texts, Images, and more. The framework is 100% web based java and includes a sophisticated security system providing control and security for all published content.

Cintra’s Knowledge Portal provides a comprehensive set of pre-built integration adapters for Oracle Business Intelligence, document search indexes, Wiki, LDAP, Lotus Domino doc and others.
Native Microsoft Domain and Security integration provides a single sign on capability that ties all sub-systems together and ensures that users do not have to log in again to any sub-system once the user is logged into a Windows Active Directory network.
KM-Portal is part of the Cintra business intelligence knowledge suite of products which includes integration with the next generation Web2.0 KM-Portal for secure, effective and user-friendly delivery of business knowledge.
Content Management System (CMS)
KM-Portal provides a set of Web 2.0 user friendly tools to produce and publish content in a collaborative system.
KM-Portal’s WYSIWYG HTML Editor allows users or contributors to upload files, design forms and tables, create hyperlinks and additional content with no HTML programming experience required.
The AJAX framework makes the user tasks easier because the content can be positioned through a "drag-and-drop" mechanism. It also improves performance because with partial screen refreshes.
The adapter’s concept offers flexibility to extend the existing library of adapters without additional coding and provides an RSS reader that shows the content (news, lists, etc) from any site in an html format.
Business Intelligence Adapter
The built-in BI Adapter provides Active or Offline Integration to publish the reports or dashboards from the Oracle Business Intelligence suite of products, permitting users to publish Business Intelligence objects such as Dashboards, Charts, Reports or KPI inside a portlet.
The integrated authentication process avoids complex environments with many security repositories.
Wiki
The built-in Wiki enabled features including; edit articles, discussion, history, comments, and menu configuration also provides a categorization method to organize content.
Wiki Publisher allows file upload of common formats including .jpeg, Html, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word, and Pdf.
Bulletin Board
Also included is a message board system that allows users to discuss user driven topics Users can introduce new topics or reply to existing questions organized by categories.
Document Search and Indexing
The pre-built integration with the Knowledge Search module known as Searchlight provides a sophisticated and comprehensive ability to spider and index content across a wide range of repository types.
The system provides an indexed search engine capable that enables users to search within documents and databases.
Integrated with Lotus Notes Domino Doc and others, Searchlight searches and indexes Lotus Domino Doc repositories and includes internal user authentication.
Security
The system provides a secure way for users to get access using a username and password. It is also possible to integrate with LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory (AD), or Oracle Internet Directory (OID) using the network user already authenticated.
Role Based security means Users can create or change pages under their specific department or area, avoiding conflict of privileges.
A default profile can be used to allow users to access the pages immediately after its creation.
Oracle Single Sign On is fully integrated with the system. It can perform internal authentications against the SSO, hiding and encrypting username and passwords.
