Job Title: Senior Oracle DBA

Position Summary
Cintra Software & Services is an established database services provider and Oracle Platinum Partner. The company is growing at a fast pace and has a global presence with offices in the UK, New York, Dallas, India and Dubai.

We are looking to grow our established expert Oracle DBA team, with a strong database professional with extensive consulting and production support experience. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and has strong experience. The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise, hands-on understanding of business process and operations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• The delivery of enterprise database architecture projects such as Oracle database infrastructure design, builds, upgrades, migrations, support and performance tuning

• The position involves a mixture of production support and project delivery activities

• The individual filling this position is expected to provide production support ownership, tracking and resolving database related tasks

• Additionally, fulfilling requests, resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g. database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis, to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLA

• The individual will also be expected to deliver enterprise-class database solutions including Database 19c,12c, RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate

• The individual must be expert delivering Oracle engineered systems (Exadata, ODA, ZFS) to the highest standards. The individual will be a member of a global consulting team

• The Oracle DBA is expected to be a customer service oriented individual

• The individual must be focused on deploying projects within agreed timelines and budgets, managing and resolving issues within customer SLAs and expectations, establishing and maintaining communication with customers to keep them updated with status of their projects or support requests
• The individual will also be responsible for initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes

• Lead database migration (Including Cross Platform Migrations), tuning, operationalization, and support efforts for Oracle RDBMS 11gR1, 11gR2, and 12c enterprise environments

• Design and implement Oracle’s High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle database including, RAC and Data Guard Design and implement data replication strategies using replication technologies such as Active Data Guard and GoldenGate

• Third-party tools Learn and support Oracle private cloud for database environments including database container (CDB) and pluggable (PDB) database administration, snapshot and clone management, multitenant architecture design, etc.

• Perform database maintenance and Optimizations tasks such as index usage analysis, index management, statistics, partition management, data compression, etc. • Troubleshooting and resolving database problems

• Performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools for Oracle Design and implement processes for database backups, restores and recovery models Design and implement database security solutions

• Oracle database security options Database architecture design, including optimal server and storage design

• Design and implement automation solutions for routine tasks, system reporting, alerts, and notifications using OEM 12c and custom scripts.

Necessary Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• 10 plus years of Oracle DBA experience

• Strong understanding of database structure, theories, principles and practices Oracle

• Oracle Engineered Systems administration experience, including Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), ZFS Storage Appliance (ZS), etc. is preferred

• Previous consulting experience is preferred

• BS degree in Computing or other related field, or equivalent experience

Cintra is an enterprise multi-cloud integrator and managed services provider at the forefront of the evolution of enterprise workload migration to the cloud, successfully moving some of the largest applications and database workloads to private and public cloud platforms.  The company has a global presence with offices in New York, Dallas, UK, Dubai and India.

 

We have an immediate need for experienced Cloud Architect to join our talented cloud delivery team based out of India.

 

Cloud Architect position responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:

 

  • Cloud architecture solutioning in one or more cloud platforms inc, AWS, OCI or GCP
  • Ability to discover and assess on-premises platforms and design equivalent cloud platforms
  • Able to lead cloud delivery teams as cloud SME and lead architect
  • Manage and develop customer relationships as cloud advisor
  • Support cloud presales solutioning
  • Maintain a knowledge of cloud production and solutions as a cloud SME

 

Cloud and Systems Skills Requirements

 

  • Experience in cloud architecture design from concept to logical and physical designs
  • Experienced in deployment and configuration of virtual cloud data centers including tenancies, virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers
  • Extensive automation skills based on Terraform and Ansible, Saltstack would be a bonus
  • Knowledge of cloud concepts including virtual networking, IaaS services, PaaS services
  • Programming skills including shell, Python, Go would be a bonus
  • Experience writing software that uses Cloud SDKs to manage infrastructure as code
  • Robust experience with Linux distributions (Redhat, Oracle Linux, Debian, Ubuntu etc.)
  • Networking skills covering DNS, VPNs, WANs, LANs, switching, load balancers and firewalls
  • Cloud and systems security skills and knowledge
  • Skills in cloud operations including availability/resource monitoring, consumption monitoring
  • Management of cloud servers including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting
  • A good understanding of version control, preferably Git & BitBucket
  • Systems monitoring with vendor provided and open source monitoring platforms

 

 

Optional but Desirable Skills

 

  • Optional exposure to Oracle database, SQL Server and or Postgres/mySQL technologies
  • Optional awareness of application middleware technologies such as Tomkat, Jboss
  • Exposure to Oracle engineered systems including Exadata, ODA and ZFS

 

Soft Skills Requirements

 

  • Strong presentation skills to lead discovery, design and solutioning workshops
  • The ability to work well with internal and customers facing teams is a requirement.

We have an immediate need for experienced Cloud System Administrator to join our talented cloud delivery team based in India. In addition to robust infrastructure, cloud and automation experience we are looking for strong self-starters able to demonstrate initiative, autonomy, ability to take ownership and achieve outcome-based goals with minimal supervision.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • The position involves a 70/30 split of project delivery activities and 3rd level production support of cloud hosted enterprise application platforms across the OCI, AWS, GCP and Azure cloud platforms.
  • The individual will work closely with the rest of the Service Delivery team architects, engineers and DBAs in taking projects from presales stage through delivery to handover into production.
  • The role will involve a high degree of autonomy, and it is expected the individual will take ownership of problems and solutions whilst working collaboratively with the rest of the engineering team.
  • The individual must be focused on deploying projects within agreed timelines and budgets, managing and resolving issues within customer SLAs and expectations, establishing and maintaining communication with customers to keep them updated with status of their projects or support requests.
  • Technically the individual will provide support and solutions engineering across cloud platforms, networking as well as Linux and Windows ecosystems, with a high emphasis on scripting and automation.
  • The individual filling this position is expected to provide production support ownership, tracking and resolving cloud and platform infrastructure related tasks.
  • The individual will also be responsible for initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
  • The individual will also take part in the engineering team on-call rota.

 

Systems Skills Requirements

 

  • 5 or more years’ experience as a Senior Infrastructure/Cloud Engineer with 2 years cloud experience.
  • Robust experience with Linux distributions (Redhat, Oracle Linux, Debian, Ubuntu etc.).
  • Intermediate working experience with Windows O/S platform and Active Directory.
  • Unix/Linux programming skills including shell, Bash, Perl, Python.
  • Windows scripting using PowerShell, VBS, VBA.
  • Systems automation experience with programming knowledge of Ansible.
  • Networking skills covering DNS, VPNs, WANs, LANs, switching, load balancers and firewalls in on premise and cloud environments.
  • Systems monitoring with vendor provided and open source monitoring platforms.
  • Systems security skills and knowledge.
  • Intermediate expertise with virtualization platforms, such as: VMware, XEN, OVM/KVM.

 

Cloud Skills Requirements

 

  • Experienced in one or more cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP or Oracle OCI clouds.
  • Knowledge of cloud concepts including virtual networking, IaaS services, PaaS services.
  • Experience in cloud architecture design from concept to logical and physical designs.
  • Experienced in deployment and configuration of virtual cloud data centers including tenancies, virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers.
  • Skills in cloud operations including availability/resource monitoring, consumption monitoring.
