Role Description and Objectives

 

Responsible for Oracle Business Intelligence implementation (OBIEE 12c), Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, APEX, JAVA, Web Services/JSON and HTML/Javascript, configuration, support, and performance tuning as well as for the design, development, administration and optimization to meet client business and technical requirements. Support team and company business processes requirements.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the design and development of a scalable business intelligence solutions, mainly on Oracle Business Iintelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE 12c)
  • Develop SQL statements and Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, database packages and triggers
  • Develop Oracle APEX screens and support backend configuration systems.
  • Develop Oracle APEX Web Service and Oracle Restful Data Services (ORDS).
  • Develop RPD models on OBIEE using a dimensional approach with appropriate layers of base facts, dimension, snapshots and aggregates
  • Develop and maintain API integrations based in Java
  • Understand Dimensional Models to Support BI implementation
  • Participate in the development of technical design documentation for various stages of the BI implementation
  • Create Dashboards/Reports on OBIEE environment based on business requirements
  • Install, upgrade, patching Oracle BI EE 12.x.
  • Install, upgrade, patching Oracle APEX 5.x
  • Install, configure, and support Weblogic 11g on Linux and Windows

  • Patch Oracle EBS and database (one-off patches, patchsets, CPUs/SPUs, PSUs, and RPUs)
  • Use utilities such as adop, adadmin, adpatch, adctrl, adrelink and admerge
  • Maintain Oracle Workflow and manage and troubleshoot configuration of workflow mailer
  • Setup multi-node with shared APPL_TOP architecture using Autoconfig
  • Upgrade EBS applications and databases from one major version to another
  • Troubleshoot issues with forms, Apache, concurrent programs, and concurrent managers
  • Create DR test plans and execute against them periodically
  • Diagnose and solve issues within the Oracle E-Business suite of technologies, including EBS, OAM, Weblogic, and other Oracle Middleware products

We are looking to fill a need to grow our established expert SQL Server team with a highly competent and highly motivated individual roles.

Some of the primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs, responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with database engineering to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.

This MS SQL Server DBA role requires a customer service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the projects, problems and requests assigned, focus on managing
and resolving issues within customer SLAs and expectations, establishing and maintaining communication with customers to keep them updated with status of their
projects or support requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.

This role requires good communication skills.

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • Experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server versions 2000, 2005, 2008 and 2012
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  • Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools for SQL Server running on  Physical Servers and Virtual Machines
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.

The position involves a mixture of production support and project delivery activities. The individual filling this position is expected to provide production support ownership, tracking and resolving database related tasks. Additionally, fulfilling requests, resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g. database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis, to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs. The individual will also be expected to deliver enterprise-class database solutions including Database 12c, RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate to the highest standards. The individual will be a member of a global consulting team.

The Oracle DBA is expected to be a customer service oriented individual. The individual must be focused on deploying projects within agreed timelines and budgets, managing and resolving issues within customer SLAs and expectations, establishing and maintaining communication with customers to keep them updated with status of their projects or support requests. The individual will also be responsible for initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Lead database migration, tuning, optimization, and support efforts for Oracle RDBMS 10gR2, 11gR1, 11gR2, and 12c enterprise environments
  • Design and implement Oracle’s High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) using RAC and Data Guard – Snapshot, Physical and Logical standby
  • Design and implement data replication strategies using replication technologies such as Active Data Guard and GoldenGate as well as other third-party tools
  • Performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools for Oracle
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database problems
  • Perform database maintenance and Optimizations tasks such as index usage analysis, index management, statistics, partition management, data compression, etc.
  • Design and implement processes for database backups, restores and recovery models
  • Design and implement database security solutions, including Oracle database security options
  • Database architecture design, including optimal server and storage design
  • Design and implement automation solutions for routine tasks, system reporting, alerts, and notifications using OEM 12c and custom scripts

 

Good to have skills

  • Goldengate administration and integration
  • Oracle Engineered Systems administration experience, including Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), ZFS Storage Appliance (ZFS), etc
  • Oracle certified professional (OCP) or higher

 

Qualifications & Educational Requirements

 

  • 6 plus years of Oracle DBA experience with strong understanding of database structure, theories, principles and practices
  • Previous consulting experience is preferred
  • Preferred Degrees: MCA (Master of Computer Application), B.Tech (Bachlore of Technology), B.E. (Bachlore of Engineering), M.Tech (Master of Technology)
