Position Summary
Cintra is an enterprise multi-cloud integrator and managed services provider at the forefront of the evolution of enterprise workload migration to the cloud, successfully moving some of the largest applications and database workloads to private and public cloud platforms. The company has a global presence with offices in New York, UK, and India.
We have an immediate need for experienced Cloud Architect to join our talented cloud delivery team based out of the UK. In addition to robust infrastructure, cloud and automation experience we are looking for strong self-starters able to demonstrate initiative, autonomy, ability to take ownership and achieve outcome-based goals with minimal supervision.
Existing UK government SC clearance or eligibility for UK SC clearance is a requirement for this role. Eligibility requires (but is not limited to) 5 years permanent residence in the UK with no period exceeding 28 days spent outside the UK.
Duties / responsibilities:
• Cloud architecture, solutioning and delivery in one or more cloud platforms – with AWS being priority (OCI, GCP and Azure are also beneficial).
• Ability to discover and assess on-premises platforms, followed by design and delivery of equivalent cloud hosted platforms.
• Able to lead cloud delivery teams as cloud SME and lead architect.
• Manage and develop customer relationships as cloud advisor.
• Support cloud presales solutioning.
• Maintain a knowledge of cloud products, platforms, and solutions as a cloud SME.
• The individual must be focused on leading projects within agreed timelines and budgets, managing and resolving issues within customer expectations, establishing and maintaining communication with customers to keep them updated with status of their projects delivery.
• Technically the individual will provide architecture and solutions engineering across cloud platforms, networking as well as Linux and Windows ecosystems, with a high emphasis on scripting and automation.
Required knowledge, qualifications, skills, and abilities:
• 6 or more years’ experience as a Cloud Infrastructure / Solutions Architect within AWS, with a total of 10+ years of experience in infrastructure technologies.
• Experience in cloud architecture design from concept to logical and physical designs.
• Experienced in design, deployment and configuration of virtual cloud data centers including tenancies, virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers.
• Solid knowledge of cloud concepts including virtual networking, IaaS services, PaaS services.
• The individual must be able to provide solutions for cloud and systems security.
• Skills in cloud operations including availability/resource monitoring, consumption monitoring.
• Unix/Linux programming skills including shell, Bash, Perl, Python.
• Windows scripting using PowerShell, VBS, VBA.
• Systems automation skills based on Terraform and Ansible (alternatively Saltstack/Puppet/Chef).
• A good understanding of version control, preferably Git & BitBucket.
• Experience writing software that uses Cloud SDKs to manage infrastructure as code.
• Robust experience with Linux distributions (Redhat, Oracle Linux, Debian, Ubuntu etc.)
• Networking skills covering DNS, VPNs, WANs, LANs, switching, load balancers and firewalls.
• Cloud and systems security skills and knowledge.
• Skills in cloud operations including availability/resource monitoring, consumption monitoring.
• Management of cloud servers including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Systems monitoring with vendor provided and open-source monitoring platforms.
Optional but desirable skills
• Optional exposure to Oracle database, SQL Server and or Postgres/MySQL technologies.
• Optional awareness of application middleware technologies such as Tomcat, Jboss.
• Optional exposure to Oracle engineered systems including Exadata, ODA and ZFS.
Soft Skills Requirements
• Strong presentation skills to lead discovery, design and solutioning workshops.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to customers, management, and other IT development partners.
• The ability to work well with internal and customers facing teams is a requirement.
• Strong collaboration skills and knowledge of collaboration tools.
• Strong self-starter able to demonstrate initiative, autonomy, ability to take ownership and achieve outcome-based goals with minimal supervision.
• Time management, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills in high pressure situation.
• Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.
Qualifications and certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• AWS (or other cloud) certifications are an advantage.
