Cintra wins place on Northumbrian Water’s cloud migration framework

23rd July 2020

London, 23rd July 2020: Cintra, the enterprise cloud architecture and delivery specialist, today announces it has been selected as one of only three suppliers on the Oracle lot of Northumbrian Water’s cloud migration framework.

Framework partners will be helping the utilities giant deliver its strategic multi-year cloud transformation, which will include a suite of applications, including commercial off-the-shelf software and mobile applications that run on Oracle databases.

Working collaboratively on the framework

Key to securing Cintra’s place on the framework was its proven, award-winning RapidCloud methodology and tooling, which delivers fast and minimal-risk enterprise-grade workload cloud transformations. Each contract awarded under the framework will require the selected partner to deliver a complete design, build and migration, and do so in a way that enables other framework suppliers to take on and proceed with subsequent phases.

As part of the cloud transformation process, Northumbrian Water will be building up its in-house capabilities, so that its own teams can subsequently look after the new environments. Alongside their cloud transformation expertise, framework partners have been chosen based on their ability to upskill the technology function at the water company.

Successfully working in multi-supplier environments

Nigel Watson, Chief Information Officer at Northumbrian Water, said: “As part of our future vision, we have a plan in place to offer unrivaled customer experience, using technology and data to develop deeper relationships. This cloud transformation of some of our most important workloads will give us the foundations on which we can innovate more effectively, while ensuring we continue to provide reliable, resilient and affordable services for our customers.

“We want to work with best-in-class organizations for each phase of this transformation, so it was critical we chose framework partners with track records of successfully delivering complex cloud migrations in multi-supplier environments.”

Innovative and forward-thinking

Steven Wyper, Chief Operating Officer at Cintra, said: “Cintra is delighted to be selected by such a forward-thinking and innovative company with a clear vision for its future operating model, as evidenced by the rigor of its partner selection process.

“We are really pleased to have been included in the framework for such a significant part of this cloud transformation project. We look forward to helping Northumbrian Water move its business operations into the cloud, and enable the client-facing teams to be more responsive and customer-focused.”
