RLDatix’s loop application ran in AWS on Microsoft SQL Server (RDS), deployed across multiple regions to meet data residency requirements. During peak periods, the SQL server environment became a bottleneck due to limited vertical scaling options and high licensing costs. RLDatix needed a more flexible, cost-effective and scalable solution that could meet performance demands through horizontal scaling with Aurora read replicas.
Assessed the existing SQL Server environment, defined the modernization roadmap and analyzed complexity, design and cost benefit for Aurora PostgreSQL.
Refactored SQL schema and code for PostgreSQL, migrated data using AWS DMS and SCT and built deployment scripts. Delivered testing, go-live and knowledge transfer.
