MESTEC were able to achieve 24/7 availability of critical software to support their clients' continuous manufacturing processes by adopting Oracle ATP and the Azure-OCI interconnect.
MESTEC, a leading global provider of cloud-based software for digitizing production processes in manufacturing, plays a crucial role in enhancing productivity and reducing costs for its clients, which include Siemens, Thales, Formaplex, and Higgidy Family Kitchen. For over 20 years, their solutions have been integral to supporting round-the-clock production lines for their clients across various industries.
MESTEC’s SaaS solution and primary web application, critical for its clients’ manufacturing operations, was underpinned by a Standard Edition Oracle database hosted hosted and managed by a third party provider. MESTEC aimed to transition to a cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution to improve its focus on application development, reduce focus on running costs and Oracle licensing, and gain full access to Oracle Database options in a commercially sustainable way.
MESTEC collaborated with Cintra to transition to Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP). This initiative positioned MESTEC at the forefront of cloud technology users in the UK, integrating its database with Microsoft Azure Web App Service via a newly announced Azure-OCI interconnect.
Cintra utilized it's expanse of Oracle knowledge to architect a ground-breaking solution that not only delivered a highly performant solution but also significantly reduced and addressed business risks associated with adopting this multi-cloud environment.
MESTEC's software now operates seamlessly across Oracle and Microsoft clouds, enhancing performance and reliability. This transformation allows MESTEC to focus more on high-value internal tasks, assured of their production database’s continuous support and strategic advancement.
